From Port to Pavement: A Continental Crossing: Porto to Berlin

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of stepping onto a new city street with a Leica in your hand and no real agenda other than to see what unfolds. From April through June, I packed up my gear and hit the road for an incredible spring stretch across Europe, tracing a line all the way from the Atlantic coast of Porto to the creative chaos of Berlin. This wasn’t just a vacation or a whirlwind tour; it was a chance to share my work, connect with people who live and breathe photography, and capture the real, everyday moments that make these cities tick.

The trip kicked off along the golden riverbanks of Porto, where I was honored to launch an exhibition at the Leica Gallery before heading down to soak in the vibrant street energy of Madrid. From there, I hopped over to Dublin for some fantastic photography festivals—always a highlight to talk shop and hang out with fellow image-makers—before diving into the fast-paced rush of London.

By the time late spring rolled around, I was making my way through Italy, starting with the sleek, fashion-forward energy of Milan, where I hosted another Leica exhibition. From there, I headed south to dive into the raw, sensory overload of Naples, before wandering through the timeless, cinematic streets of Rome. After catching my breath in the crisp, clean air of Zurich, I finally wrapped the whole adventure up in Berlin, a city that always keeps you on your toes with its mix of history and relentless culture.

Looking back, it was a blur of early mornings, gallery openings, endless cups of coffee, and pounding the pavement looking for that one authentic frame. At the end of the day, whether you're hanging prints on a gallery wall or just chasing a stray shadow down a back alley, it’s all about the people you meet and the stories you bring home.
