Join Leica Store New York SoHo on August 6 at 6-7 pm for a unique talk with Phil Penman, Leica street photographer extraordinaire as he talks about his 25-year love affair with New York covering celebrities, colorful locals, and all that embodies the indelible ‘spirit’ of his adopted city.

UK-born, NY-based photographer Phil Penman has documented the rapid flux of New York City's streets for over 25 years. He’s covered the biggest news and entertainment stories in America, has photographed celebrated living legends and captured historical moments such as the September 11th Terrorist attacks. Phil has won worldwide recognition for his distinctive style of photography, including the Leica Fotografie International Picture Prize and distinction as one of the "52 Most Influential Street Photographers" alongside industry legends, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Sebastião Salgado. In his best-selling book Street, published in 2019, Phil movingly says: “The street—it’s living and breathing…. We choose to see or not to see what we want of it; though if you really look closely, you can see just about anything.”
